About this manual

The manual was developed by the team of researchers from KTH experienced with research, teaching and implementation of participatory backcasting (PB) on practice in various contexts and settings.

Main empirical domains of PB implementation by the team are the heating and cooling sector/indoor climate, mobility, and urban food.

Olga has more than 10 years of experience with teaching PB and future studies methods for students at KTH and for practitioners from various fields. She does research aimed at methodological advancements of PB. Olga contributed to the tailoring of the modular PB framework for teaching purposes.

Kateryna Pereverza

PhD, PostDoc at KTH

Kateryna has experience with teaching PB for students and practitioners  in various contexts. In her PhD thesis, Kateryna has developed the modular PB framework and applied it for strategic planning in the heating and cooling sector in two cities. Kateryna contributed to the creation of the structure and content of this manual.

Hanna Eggestrand

Hanna has experience with teaching PB within a master course at KTH and contributed substantially towards the creation of this manual both in terms of content development and creation of this website

Oleksii has experience with teaching and practical implementation of PB-based projects in different countries and greatly contributed to the development of the modular PB framework and the creation of this website and associated illustrations.
